  1. .....HOW TO BORROW MONEY..... Although it happens frequently-often several times a 
  2. day-this can represent of the most awkward moments among family members, 
  3. requiring a truly exceptional level of politeness skills. Be certain, for 
  4. example, to always begin a money-lending request with the word "Please" 
  5. repeated as many times as the amount is in dollars. Even when approached
  6. with such considerable taste and tact, the family member in question may 
  7. prove reticent. At that point, you may be tempted to whine, "Well, instead of lending me money then, how about you
  8. paying me back the money you borrowed two hours ago?" This, however, is 
  9. considered rather rude, as the individual may well reply, "Okay, but only if 
  10. you pay me back the money you borrowed four hours ago". A conversation of this
  11. type frequently ends with the two parties not speaking to each other for 
  12. several years, or, in many cases, until one dies (for example, due to
  13. overlooking the importance of a tetanus shot).....
